The Performance Club programme has been rolled out to the majority of franchises with whom we operate and has met with very positive feedback. We have found that the business clubs are also very useful at the individual dealer and dealer group level. These meetings take the composite information for a group of dealers or the departments of an individual dealer and compare their performance against each other and industry averages. The dealers share ideas and horror stories between themselves to enable each one of them to improve profitability.
The key to the meetings is in providing best practice ideas, giving dealers practical solutions for their under-performing departments. Trevor Jones, who is widely regarded as the leading industry voice on dealership profitability, continues to chair the meetings. The provision of practical advice, based on industry best practices, enables dealers to quickly improve performance and profit, hence the name ‘Profit Clinic’ has been used for the Club meetings in the past. Dealer Principals find true benefit in attending the clubs.
Typically the same group of dealers meet bi-annually in a hotel away from the distractions of their dealerships. The meetings last for about 6 hours, including lunch. Various locations around the country are used.
The business club format also operates very successfully at an individual dealer level where all of the line managers meet to promote ideas for driving the business forward.
